Are You Pacifist or What?

Are You Pacifist or What?

noun: pacifist; plural noun: pacifists
a person who believes that war and violence are unjustifiable.
"she was a committed pacifist all her life"
(Google definition return)

It is my belief that when considering pacifism entailing the concept that violence is never justifiable, I would caution that just societies providing due process in matters of dispute must back up actions and determinations with the sword of the state.  Take the most humane democracy on earth, a simple regard for truth entailing the wide spectrum of human behavior (or misbehavior) demands ready backups of police power.  True-blue pacifists will be forever insistent that under no circumstances will the police ever back up their personal life or possessions with police power.  "I will be perfectly happy if state justice should look straight through and past me as if I did not exist."

Pea-brained Christians insist that God’s love finding expression through them demands sexual castration.  Your government or business tone-setter leadership can be so scandalously corrupt that they smell like rotting sardines in the blistering heat of August.  Yet, since Christian skirts must always remain unbesmirched, these Christians run from civic accountability and instead build ever-taller silos of piety.

This is clearly similar to Paul’s problem with circumcision of the penis rather than of the heart.  Towering unobstructed silos of piety MAY have their place, but the Kingdom of God is of the spirit blowing to and fro between, within, and through human institutions of all types.  God indeed is not OF THE WORLD, but he is very much in the hearts of men to profoundly transform the old, failed arrangements with astounding creativity and change.
