The Shining City on a Hill where everyone is welcomed with a
Winterfest Welcome is hugely necessary for human affairs.—a place where we receive
unconditional family-love no matter what.
And indeed that is at the heart of what it means to be a part of a
church family or the American family or indeed the human family. Yet as the Good
Book reminds us:
Micah 6:8 New King James Version (NKJV)
He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?
That is, inherent with a gracious welcome gifting with a sense of equality and well-being, somehow it needs to be conveyed that grace is not enough. That is, our Creator on first day of class hits us with a heavy load of requirements—justice, mercy, and
humility before God. He expects us to embody the
structure of the cantilevered three-layered design—the design we screw up when we play god. And PLEASE do not forget we are NOT islands of rugged-individuals--we are not Marlboro Men ridding atop Texas Pride.. Quite to the contrary. In multifarious ways to be mapped out by tools not to be developed for many centuries,, it will then become clear that the free-choice doctrine is one of the most naive and pernicious doctrines ever devised by man.
