The Praise Dividend

Psalm 103 1-5 (NIV)
Of David.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Giving praise has a reflexive benefit: the more praise we give, the more sunlight illumines our day.  It is in our own solid self-interest to begin each day with praise and thanksgiving to our omniscient Creator.  The following Psalms are recommended by Ernie Dorrell (retired Methodist clergy): 100, 103, 19, 27, 32, 23, 8.
