My Creative Process class includes an assignment to create something during the next day (35 days in all). Many years have past since I wrote poems on a regular basis--I was in my 20's when I did so (I'm now 70). My project will be to write a short poem each day and post it on this blog. Mandela Dignity
Being stiff-necked has nothing to do with dignity
I think of Nelson Mandela imprisoned at the hands of racists
I see him even then assured of his own self-worth
Yet still a friend to his enemies:
Dignity is no selfish construct
But is sourced in mutual identity.
