On Second Thoughts

The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
(Isaiah 11:6 NIV)

Mankind has kept before it a dream never realized that one day all will be well and a little child will lead us. When we think of the love, creativity, honesty, and innocence of a little child, we dream about what a glorious time that will be. I would like to give one word of caution. For anyone who has been around a little child, they can appreciate that children are substantially unfiltered. The child will ask a handicapped person “Why is your arm like that?” Of course, all adults nearby sink beneath the carpet. When and if our dream of Isaiah 11 ever is fulfilled on earth, I wonder if mankind will really be ready for it. I hope so, but I doubt it.
