Today is January 1, 2013. I wish above all for the coming year to be a grand adventure for each and every one—for new vistas in understanding and action, for the turning of challenges into multifarious accomplishments. I hope over the coming year for focused perceptions and actions born not of myopically self-interested calculating minds, but rather of public spirited analytical ones. Only in this way can a predominately negative and divisive atmosphere be redeemed by a positive beneficent one. A calculating mentality divides and separates us while an analytical one serves to unite and join us in a circle of common pursuits. God's challenge for us today is to distill the essence of objective reality, not bury our heads in the sands of suffocating and blinding self-interest. Jesus showed us the more expansive way and he is forever trustworthy and true.
